Renfrewshire streets to be exempt from pavement parking restrictions

New parking laws will be enforced by Renfrewshire Council this November, meaning parking on pavements, double parking as well as parking in front of a dropped kerb will be banned.

A consultation period is now underway and will run until September 11, when objections to the proposed exemptions will be put to the council for consideration.

If there are no objections to the proposed exemptions, they will come into effect alongside the enforcement of the new restrictions in November.

Exemptions have been applied to streets that require pavement parking for emergency vehicles to pass through or where there is at least 1.5 metres of space for pedestrians whilst a car is parked on the pavement.
